'07 SMB Suspension Checkup

My recent attempt to get new springs failed, but I did install the Fox shocks from SMB recently. Made a little difference, but I still feel every tiny crack in the road and hearing more squeaks and noises lately. I'm having a pro shop install the Fox steering stabilizer tomorrow, and wonder what particular elements of the suspension or steering should be checked at my now 104K miles. I asked them to do an overall inspection, but what typically might have simply worn out by now? I have taken the rig on quite a few rough roads and trails.

How did your attempt at new springs fail?

Hey Jeffrey I’ve kind of got the same thing going on in my lifted 2wd e350 with 160k on it .my shop didn’t find anything that looked like it needed replacing when they put new tires and had my alignment checked .Everything seems really really squeaky on my suspension and it’s driving me nuts ..I can only hear it when I’m going very slowly on rough road sections . I am also looking at Fox shocks because I can feel everything in the road too, only at slow speed though kind of a jarring. I was thinking on mine maybe this weekend some kind of spray lube to hit the moving parts might quiet it down a little ?

Oh yeah and most of the squeaky noises seems to be coming from the rear of my van leaf springs? Shackles? Shocks ?

I placed the order with Deaver, waited for over three months, heard nothing from them, and then figured out that they no longer care to do that work but neglected to tell me. What a bunch of losers.

I've heard that, but oddly, they contract out the manufacturing to other shops, including Oregon Spring. When I asked Oregon if they would build me a set to Devers spec's, they said sure, but I had to order through Dever, and all Dever had to do was place the order. So, have you tried talking with Alcan spring? They have good prices and fast service.
