Re: 4x4 transfer case identification

Hi B;

Honesty tinged with bitterness is still better than watching someone make a mistake.

I take all advice. Some with more salt than others.

Regards,

Gavin

Re: 4x4 transfer case identification

Hi;

Jage that's what I think it is. I'd like to put you down for the $10 but I'm a little short right now...

Nice hunting though. Now how about the adapter!

Regards,

Gavin

Is the adapter made of metal or wood?

Re: 4x4 transfer case identification

Is that not the back of the transmission? What transmission?

Re: 4x4 transfer case identification

Hi;

Jage you are a comedian.

The next step is the adapter to an A-518 transmission. That may be a tough one. They are ten years apart in age. I have no idea if they use the same bolt pattern and I know the overdrive unit adds to the length over the old 727 trans.

I'll end up getting the trans and transfer case out of a newer 4x4 truck. Problem is short number of years for 518 and 4x4 without electronic and computer controls. Something like 1990-95.

I keep looking...

Regards,

Gavin
