I used to run 12 in my Cherokee and never lost a bead but I did get all kinds of crud in the beads as the tire folded away. I got beadlocks and ran 10 or less after that.

I haven't aired down the SMB yet. You can use chalk to see when your tire has the maximum footprint without cupping (when it cups inside out that's too low).
