Anyone used National Springs in El Cajon, CA?

I'm looking to upgrade the springs in my 2008 SMB (probably just the rear at this point). I've heard wonderful things about Deaver Springs in Santa Ana, but I'd rather not have to deal with driving up and hanging out on a curb in LA for a day (I'm in San Diego). So I'm wondering if anyone has used National Springs in El Cajon? They quoted $1200 (as opposed to $1650 for Deaver) and I'm wondering if its worth the time, effort and expense to go with Deaver, or if people have had good experience with National Springs (they said they've worked on SMBs before so someone out there has had some sort of experience with them. )

Thanks for any input!
Ryan

Check out Deaver's site, specifically, their distributors' list. There are a number in San Diego County. Probably still more pricy than National, but it might save you the hassle of sitting on a curb in L.A.

Cheers,
Brent

Santa Ana is behind the Orange curtain (Orange County)

$1200 for what? Deaver builds 11-leaf no overload packs. My local spring shop took delivery and installed, the first thing they said was "we could'a built those for you" but I looked around and of the 100s of truck springs around saw nothing similar.

If you're only doing the rear and getting the same springs, essentially "truck springs" and not Deaver's, you might ask about re-arching and adding another leaf instead of full replacement.

Ordered a set from them last week. Waiting for them to come in next week. They assured me they do the same thing as Deaver....

I won't have anything to compare them to but my stock springs but I'll post feedback once installed.

Anything has to be better than my stock ride...

Re: Anyone used National Springs in El Cajon, CA?

I think Deaver will ship. I guess it really doesn't matter as long as the shop you're using has the same quality of spring as Deaver use and they're the same grade material. Deaver seems to have engineered the correct pack for most vans even though I required an extra leaf. My van was heavier than most so they sent me the correct extra leaf to make it right @ N/C. I also feel once Deaver sees the variety of weights they will be more right on target. Deaver uses a high end spring. Not sure about others.

Good luck.

More importan\t than the upfront cost comparison, is the ride and longevity. I have no comparison between Deaver and National Spring for an SMB (though I do have Deavers on my Bronco). There are always less expensive products, but make sure they've done SMBs before, and try to find a referral from someone who's had them installed for at least a year or two to see if they sag. I've seen many people get springpacks that are great at first, sag within a year or two.

Take lots of photos on the pallet, I have similar photos of Deavers- we can at least look at the form.

Re: Anyone used National Springs in El Cajon, CA?

Deavers has had mine on order for over a month? I call Jeff and he is kinda washy on when they might have them. He keeps telling me they might be in next week but I will call you. He has yet to call me back on any of this even after I leave a voicemail. So I'm kinda looking for someone that wants the business.
