BFG KM2 Mud terrain 255/85 16 load range E

I posted a review on my new BFG KM2 255/85 16's over on ExPo. It's a great tire so far! Super quiet on the road and no tire induced sway from such a tall skinny tire. My tracking problem went away and the van is a joy to drive on the interstate. I thought I needed a steering stabilizer but the new tires track so well it will wait. If anybody wants a deal on any tires then call Steve at 4 Wheel Parts Wholesaler and tell him you want a deal like Stump got. He will give you the best price he can and you can get them installed at your local 4Wheel Parts Wholesale location. 303-341-5337 But you have to ask for Steve and tell him Stump sent you if you want the best price. I paid 844 installed and out the door for 4 of these tires. Nice guy to extend his bottom line pricing to us 4x4 van folks. http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/s ... hp?t=28066

Re: BFG KM2 Mud terrain 255/85 16 load range E

I've been considering the KM2 LT285/75 R16E (~33") to replace my LT295 AT, but at 35,000 miles they still have about good 5,000 miles left in them! I have 31" Mud Terrains on my Jeep, low mileage but 7 years old now. You can't beat BFG's, never a problem in 4 sets now. I'm surprised to hear how hiway quiet they are, that was my biggest concern. Thanks for the report.

Re: BFG KM2 Mud terrain 255/85 16 load range E

I put the 285/16 E KM2's on yesterday; about $1000 balanced and installed for 4. No opinions yet. I had All Terrians 295/16 D's and got 39K miles out of them but they were cracking, disintegrating and had large chunks of tread missing from rocky trails, heavy van and not being aired down enough. I will not have D rated tires on this vehicle again. Pictures and opinions soon.

Re: BFG KM2 Mud terrain 255/85 16 load range E

Any updates on the wear of the KM2's after mone milage? I was leaning hard towards the KM2's until I noticed how much tread is gone relative to my spare on the Jeep (about 10,000 miles - four Rubicon trips). Now I am having a moment of pause.

Of note: tread wear has been very even, nothing but praise for handling on wet/dry pavement, mud, heavy rocks, and snow. They are a little slick on ice, but no surprise there with a MT. Got around just fine in Tahoe during big snow this December.
