Broken Rear Wheel Stud

Has anyone replaced a rear wheel stud on their Dana 60 w/disk brakes? Can the new stud be inserted in the hub and pulled in using the lug nut like in lesser vehicles or does the entire axle have to be removed--yuck.

Thanks
Tom

Re: Broken Rear Wheel Stud

as long as you can get to the backside of the wheel stud flange and get the old stud out and get the new one in, you can pull the new stud into the flange with a wheel lugnut. use some grease on the stud and nut to help ease of installation and replace the installing nut witha new one.

Re: Broken Rear Wheel Stud

Do you have correct track wheel spacers?

I remember some saying the OEM studs have been cut down about 3/8" so they are below the outer face of the Correct Track spacer. This keeps the wheel mounted flat to the spacer. I don't have them so I could be wrong but I would check. Hate to see a wheel fall off on you Tom.
