Chain, chain, chain...
I'm wondering what brands/types of tire chains folks are using on their SMB's.

Re: Chain, chain, chain...
We have a 35" Pewag brand Chains that we bought from SMB West. Seems fairly easy to install when I tried it out.

Re: Chain, chain, chain...
Here is a viable web site with listing's for tire chain requirement's on a nation wide list . Some of these site's have additional information . My company runs trucks to the entire country and use's the contained guideline's for Winter deliveries . www.tirechain.com/default.htm

Re: Chain, chain, chain...
I just bought 2 sets of RUD-type chains for our van from http://www.tirechains.com. I called Bill Burke first and the gal that answered the phone said the RUD Sure-Grip chains don't come in sizes bigger than 33" tall. I test fit them at home before leaving and they are a snap to put on.
We skiing up in Big Bear this weekend and the van did great just in 4x4 high. Never had to put the chains on, but was glad they were there. Snowed about 6 inches going up Friday and about another foot coming down today.

Re: Chain, chain, chain...
I bought RUD chains from Bill Burke and while I haven't tried them outside the garage, I am happy that I have them. They were easy to chain up in the garage, my wife took the front, I took the rear and we both finished within a couple minutes.
In fact, she finished quicker which I mentioned won her the opportunity to put them on when we pull to the side of a slushy road
Oh, don't you worry, it will be me that is out there with the leather gloves on, fumbling behind my tires with my forehead against the tire for balance.
That said, while not easy, they seem as simple as most cable chains and better that link(real) chains.

Re: Chain, chain, chain...
I was actively looking for chains, and had decided on RUDs until I learned that they did not make them for 35 inch tires.....
...back to the drawing board....

Re: Chain, chain, chain...
Greg: You don't have to go back to the drawing board..... Check out this link for the diamond chains I bought. They look identical to RUD Grip 4x4 chains (made in China - but what isn't these days). Also sell a diamond chain with extra wear links. http://www.tirechain.com/315-70-17.htm

Re: Chain, chain, chain...
NOTE: If you have a 4X4 with M/S tires and need chains you should not be there.

M/S tires won't help on ice, where chains will.
