dual shock mounts? Remote reservoir shocks?

I need a little more dampening all around, but especially the rear (almost 8,000 pounds on my rear axle when loaded). I have seen dual shock mounts for all the American full size trucks. Anyone try using them on the E-series?

Or, would remote reservoir shocks work as well as dual shocks? Yes, I do have some quality mono-tube shocks now. But it's not enough when I'm bombing down rocky dirt roads at freeway speeds.

Rezies should do you fine. Bilstein 7100 are a good place to start.

Yes. But it is not a stock Ford van. It has an SMB 4wd conversion with the front coil springs being replaced by leafs and the shock mounts (top and bottom) are moved and different style than stock. Other than that, the picture applies to all recent Ford vans.

I'll stick to upgrading the rear for now. I think I'll do the stud-to eye conversion for the rear. Pretty straightforward, and go with the 7100 remote mount reservoir.

I'll probably go dual shocks up front. I don't want to lose travel doing the stud to eye conversion up front). It's easy to add a tab to run a 2nd stud mount shock. (That's what QuadVan does), and adding another horizontal stud to the axle shouldn't be too hard..

My 5150 Bilsteins allowed me to unscreew the top eye and install a Bilstein Stud. I didn't loose as much length that way. I don't know about the 7100's but Bilsteins tech suport line is good and will give you the numbers for the stud kits.
