The AWD 2500 was basically what you are asking about... A 2500 with a light-duty transfer case. They stopped making it because it didn't work.
BTW - Solid axle is certainly not required for 4x4. I wouldn't even recommend it on the Chevy vans. The IFS setup sourced from the pickups is strong enough and rides better.
Much of it, yes but definitely not all. Quigley conversions use mostly HD truck parts from GM with some custom bracketry to mount the diff, transfer case, and torsion bars to the frame. As Marret says, brakes and upper control arms are factory van stuff.
