Well just picked up the van. New calipers are on and no more noise. The manager wasn't there when I picked it up. Maybe I'll give him a call tomorrow and see if they can explain exactly what was going on..
Crandall? Knock on wood, I've had good service from them on both my old 01 V10 and the 02 7.3l I have now.. Curious what they say, as calipers wouldn't be what I'd think of for causing the noise you described...

Yep Crandall. I usually take my van to Ricardo's. They've always been really good to me. I figured I'd take it to Ford for the 4x4 issue though.
