I think sand is deep enough to sit on the ground with the difs/axle body. But the downhill effect is helping a lot while go backwards. I am shure every 4x4 will do the same it it has diff locks in rear and better also in front. No it will do it better.
in realy hard sand contition i would never have trust in an system that takes the braking system to stop the spinning of wheels. It will wear out your brake pads faster than you your first day of fun ends.
