Agile's kit does provide, or at least its an option, shocks for the rear. They also have an option to order a rear leaf upgrade kit that includes a new replacement platform spring along with an add a leaf. I was really happy with the result on my E350. Email John at Agile. He'll take care of you.

+1

I have springs that Agile spec'ed out for me from their spring builder. So far so good. As for cost, I think the RIP is $1000-1500 depending, and the springs are about the same. Call John and he can give you more specific.

My understanding is that Deavers are more expensive.

I have a '08 e350 EB SMB QuadVan conversion. With the original 4 leaf springs and lift blocks (4") in the rear and bilsteins all around.

The rear has been sagging quite a lot. I had them reworked. It got better but still could be improved.

The ride is nice but could get better offroad and over bumps.

I nearly just read the best about the Deaver springs and the Agile RIP Package.

So my questions are:

1. Has anyone combined Deaver leaf springs in the rear and the RIP kit? What do you think? How does it work together?

2. Is it right that the RIP kit also includes new (Fox) shocks for the rear?

3. what will the Deavers (more or less) cost me? The pair. With parts an shackles but without shocks and without installation (I live in germany).

4. and the price for the Agile RIP?

Thx guys!
Deaver is one of the very few companies that manufacturers custom springs in the US - stands behind their product and helps make adjustments as required (I have them on my FG).

Since you are in Germany, I'm not sure how much this benefit might be worth to you.

I would also say that the internet can be a cruel place, but I don't remember seeing any negative feedback about Deaver, ever.

Thanks for your answers guys. This helps already.

As far as I can see noone has the combination Agila RIP/Deavers?

I am willing to go just the agile way. But I do want a completely new, custom made leaf pack. Not just add a leaf or something like that. I want to get rid of the lift block also.

Does anyone (rallypanam?) have pictures of the custom made springs of agile?

Can they be compared to the deavers? Do they have a full military wrap like they do?

Price is important - for sure! I will pay

the price in US$
+ shipping (300-600 US$)
+ about 10-15% toll on both(!)
+ 19% tax on the price

-> thus 3000 US$ will result in about 4800 US$ until it is here

Maybe you should plan for an extended visit to the US, and ship your SMB here, have your springs/suspension updated, drive around enjoying the sights here for 3-4 weeks, and then ship your SMB back home. Just an idea.

Yes, they're full new leaf packs, no blocks. See my thread here:

Thx Robb. Read it. Sounds good!

Think I will go the Agile way. Getting all out of one hand should be beneficial too. Especially if everything has to be shipped to germany.

FYI, they'll need weights and height measurements.

Herb

Idea is good!

But in fact before thinking that way I already booked a rented (!) SMB for our 4 weeks trip in may 17.

And in the end according to law I would have had to pay tax and toll anyways. Just not shipping.

Yeah I know - about weights. But I have the interiour rebuilt and the generator removed and some more. So I wait for this to be done to have the right figures.

Which heights to you mean they will need??
