Thanks Man, that does help. By "clocking the axle", I just meant to adjust the pinion angle and to point it at the transfer case. I too will most likely do a sterling but I'm a LONG ways away. Just been researching a ton. This will be my biggest project by far. What did you do for rear springs? blocks, custom springs, shackle flip, or something else? If you don't mind me asking, around how many $$ were the driveshafts. Does anyone know roughly how much it would be to modify superduty driveshafts? One last question, how does one truely know they are on level ground?

Right now I just installed blocks and longer unbolts to get the ride height I want. When I’m all done with the build out of the van I will have the van weighed and have custom leafs made. (I think I will have Weldtech make the leaf springs) the driveshafts cost me $860 brand new from scratch shipped to my door. I couldn’t find anywhere else that was under $1,200. I built my shop so I know the ground is level. Otherwise I would just use a 6’ level and check. Should get you pretty close.

Newer axle, earlier van
I'm getting close to installing my rear axle. I went with an '13 Sterling. The MG instructions say that the 12-16 axles can be used on earlier vans with modifications to the sensors. Does anybody have any more information about what has to be done to make this combo work?
Also related, I have a 4R70W. What kind of adapter will I need to handle the speed sensor after the tranny is converted to 4wd?
Thanks everyone!

Bulletproof Engineering has a piece in their kit that also clocks the oil filter up like UJoint’s kit does. Might work

Email MG for the Sterling rear instructions.

On a previous conversion I had a 3.73 limited slip rear so I purchased a 3.73 front. I ran the van rear for 3 years until I believed the rear end was going out then went with the Sterling then.
You have to mod the rear driveshaft twice, once for the transfer case, and again for the sterling rear. You also will have to buy wheel adaptors temporarily while running the van rear.
If you match the front ratio to the 4.10 rear you wouldn't be able to buy a Sterling with a 4.10. In your case you would just regear the rear to 4.10 which you would have to do anyways with already buying a 3.73
btw that previous conversion was a 4" ujoint kit, http://https://www.expeditionportal....ersion.147902/
So what are the part#'s for the shocks? Fox? Bilstein?
Maybe this on the parts spreadsheet, I don't see that in my stuff from MG

What driveshaft mods are required for the sterling? Is the flange different? What parts are needed?

Rear brake lines / rear drive shaft mods (Sterling)
2001 7.3L e350 + 2014 f250 front axle + 2007 sterling rear.
Really close to having everything needed for the MG 4wd conversion and hoping to knock it out next week. Couple last questions:
What rear brake line do you run? Part number?
What needs to happen to my 01 7.3 driveshaft to make it work with Sterling?

Steering driveshaft flange
Looks like I should be able to add a 05 sterling yoke to my existing 01 shaft.

1) Has anyone done their front axle without a sway bar? Results? Recommendations?
2) In our part list, it seems 5C3Z-3A089-BA doesnt exist (on the internet). Have folks had success elsewhere?
3) does anyone know if 1.5" or 1.75" thick wheel adapters will work w/o having to shorten the studs?
4) has anyone used any alternate shocks besides the fox? Specifically considering something with a reservoir and if there would be any fitment issues.
5) has anyone done dual shocks?
