VERY nice, although I don't understand why you want the RSC in there? Most of the 4x4 vans are ordered without RSC.
I was told to order without on mine.

Re: New 4x4 Build/03 7.3 with SMB top

This van doesn't have RSC, it just has the axle upgrade to get the big brakes (14.5" diameter), serviceable wheel bearings & 35 spline axle shafts. The RSC upgrade also comes with crossover steering and a straight tie rod. I install this on a lot of vans that don't have RSC.

There's no "RSC Delete" option on the new vans. Wish there was, but its standard on all new vans.

Great workmanship is evident once again by the Team at UJoint.

Jealous is what comes to mind whenever I see all the goodies people are adding to their Rigs.

Where would a winch be set up if keeping the stock bumper ? I have only seen them with the aftermarket
bumper systems like aluminess and Ujoint version.

New 4x4 Build/03 7.3 with SMB top

Ujoint- looking at options for tuners on my 03 7.3 after yanking out the edge programmer when it went haywire. Saw you used a custom DP tune on this build. Programmer, Chip, flash? Also, any thoughts on other upgrades to "enhance" durability/performance or replace weak links on the 7.3, torque converter, injectors....thanks!

Re: New 4x4 Build/03 7.3 with SMB top

^^^ Id be interested in same info. most everyone tells me theres so little options I should just go with the TP 6-way plug and play setup. would love to hear your opinion about them.

im not positive, but it looks like theres a receiver in the front. have a plug for power and its removable to store in a strongbox or elsewhere. we did a setup like that on a snowcat. we usually used it in the back receiver though, very rarely used it in front. it wasnt to often we wanted to pull ourselves further into the "stuck", lol.

rig looks badass. have been looking for updates on your site to see more pix and get a few more details (not that there isnt plenty of other good vanporn on there ).

Looks fantastic.

One nit-pic. That van is begging for a new exhuast system.

Thanks! There's no good setup to run a winch with the stock bumper. It would have to be a portable winch on a front receiver. I'm not a huge fan of that since we all need at least a 12K winch and them boys is heavy! Side pulls can get sketchy too. You know you want a UJ bumper!

I've used the DP tuner several times on the 7.3. I like the options that he has. High idle, eco tunes, towing tunes, lots of options on his site. They set me up with some crazy stuff for V4 that I haven't dared to play with yet! The DP comes with either a dial switch or a little box that you use to select the switch to change on the fly.

I've done a lot of maintenance on the 7.3's, but not much performance. We generally look for long term reliability and sometimes stock is the best route. Gauges are important, especially EGT & tranny temp. A mag-Hytec tranny pan is well worth the investment.
