Agree. Not sure how expectations are formed, but for mileage I look for about 30k with any tire on the SMB. Every mile is a "hard" mile in a 10-11k van, often driving on gravel or rocks. So far my Toyo ATs may do a bit more, but I'm not looking to stretch my tire life to the max.

Re: Nitto Longer Term Review- Meh

My original Nitto A/T's have about 40k on them. On the one hand, 40k miles is about all I would expect. On the other hand, the wear experience I have had mirrors Jage's original post.

On top of that, I just noticed a bulge in the sidewall of the passenger rear tire.

So, just ordered the Toyo A/T II's. Will see if they can get anywhere close to the waranteed milage...

Are the toyo A/T IIs now available in an E load rating?

A year or so ago, I checked and they were only available in a D rating.

Thanks
Rob

Yes. I ordered LT285/75R17s (same size as my Nittos). They are E rated.

*Edit*

Sadly, the Toyo's are sold out and on back order... again. New set of Nitto's now in place. Toyo's will have to wait 'till the next set...

And I've got the E rated AT2s in 285/75/16s. Pretty happy with them so far @ 5k on them so far

Re: Nitto Longer Term Review- Meh

I've heard that the nittos are made from a bit softer compound than say the toyos, and thus are a bit quieter, but wear faster. On my 2nd set of toyo open country m/t, I think I got about 50K out of the 1st set, 55-60 psi front, 60-65 psi back, air them down to 30-35 psi off road, I've liked them, no punctures or flats and never left us stuck, but considering the toyo AT2 for next round, quieter hwy ride and better in the snow.
