Rear recovery points?

I just noticed that our SMB only has recovery points on the front bumper. Seems odd to me aluminess makes the mounts for the front and not the rear... maybe im just blind? What do you guys use outback?

I had a Warn 2" receiver recovery shackle in the last rig... but its only rated for 4.75 tons... so i don't feel comfortable using that on a rig this sized/weight.

Just the answer i was looking for!

So, you TIG welded them on and re-powedercoated the bumper? Also, do they send reinforcement plates of any type for the back?

thanks so much for that pic

I ordered the van with this option. There is a plate right behind the point that ties it back to the frame.

Thanks Charlie, i will contact Aluminess about this. It surprises me they don't already do it, since they do it on the front already.

No, not tig weld. The bumpers are aluminum, remember?

Still, the hitch mount shackle seems strong enough to do nearly anything except suspending your vehicle from it....

Yeah and you can TIG weld aluminum last I checked?
http://www.artsautomotive.com/HowToWeldAluminum.htm

Most use TIG welders for aluminum and MIG welders for steel.

Most recovery straps can go in the class 3... shove the loop in and put your pin through, eliminating the Warn D-ring.
