Rear Sway Mount Issue
2013 EB50
Quadvan 4x4 w/ rear sway bar.
Stock rear springs
I've been chasing down a noise from the rear for some time now. What I've discovered is under certain conditions where the rear springs are compressed beyond a certain point, the sway bar mount on the frame rail is making contact with the leaf spring retainer. I can see where the bolt and retainer have been slightly deformed from this contact. I'm looking for some advice on how to correct this. I was thinking of shaving an 1/8 off the sway bar bushing between the bolt and frame rail to provide the extra space. Thoughts, suggestions?

ridintall - So when I was looking for a rear sway bar to add onto my van that was converted by Advanced I was told that I shouldn't need one. It wasn't exactly the answer I was looking for but I am just wondering if you have tried taking it off and seeing how it felt. I recently added a set of rear springs from Ujoint on the back and got rid of the stock springs/ block and it has made a big difference in how stable the van feels.
Probably not the solution you were looking for but it may be one of many...

New rear springs are an option, just not now. Looking for a less expensive fix at the moment. Thanks for the reply.

The sway bar was not stock - just relocate that bolt.
You can also cut off the spring retainer without ill effect.
Leave it alone - unless the noise is really bothersome.

Yep I added a rear one after I added the Alumines roof rack, solar panel, sand traps and kayak... It took care of all my axial movement. For $300 and one hour to install it was a no brainier.

By the way, if I had to do it over I would try the custom valves shocks from Agile before I try the sway-bar, I will still do that after I get some mileage out of my pretty new shocks.
