Hahaha! I've been reading and talking to soooo many front end peeps for 3 months!!! This makes complete sense to me! Will meet with Front end guy tomorrow in BFE Alaska. I hope he has a similar mod to make refitting my SMB for full time living ... safely!

I may be asking more questions for the parts you suggest I need from UJoint.

More grist for the mill, the UJOR springs on my van are 53" eye to eye.

I took a second look at the picture you posted of your front end. The fact that you have a track bar that is the same angle as the drag link should minimize bump steer, by design.

drop me a PM anytime, I used a combination of UJOR parts, and some parts I fabbed myself. i did a write up on my Dana 60 a while back, there's a lot of good info there.
