I tried to get my Ford dealer to re-calibrate our 2008 also, but to no avail. They couldn't find any settings that were accurate. It's easy to adjust the Scan Gauge and we usually just keep the speed as one of its displayed gauges. Our speedometer is only off about 4 mph at 70, but better to know how fast you really are going.

Hey....are you **sure** that you really want to accurately recalibrate your speedometer/odometer?
If your speedometer is reading low.....and subsequently your odometer is racking up less displayed miles than are actually being driven.....
.....then you're effectively preserving a little bit more of your van's future resale value

While I'd want to maximize perceived value to, say, an insurance adjuster, my conscience forces me to be straightforward with a potential future buyer ;-) Appreciate the point, tho!

Haha! Figured it was worth raising the humorous point.
(FYI --- I recalibrated my speedometer too...actually reads about 1% or 2% too high now....so I'm shooting my self in the foot and racking up MORE miles than actual, lol....)
On my '95, it's super easy to calibrate --- you can access a recalibration mode for the PSOM (Programmable Speedometer Odometer Module) by jumper-wiring from ground to a pin under the dashboard, and then altering an "adjustment factor" number on the digital odometer display.
I've posted this before....while it is shown for an F-truck or Bronco, it will also work for any E-series van up through (and including) the 1996 model years.

I'd say that there's certainly room for improvement in that UI, but it's really a one-time interaction.

nifty trick! wish I could do that,... I've got a 2000. might still look for that 1-pin connector tho. nice vid!

Speed/Od-ometer: Has anyone bothered to recalibrate?
I have a 2000 and all it needed was to change the gear on the speedo pickup.

My 2013 SMB was not corrected for the new tire size. I have a 5 Star tune on the van and Mike added the changes to the tunes so I'm fixed as long as I am not running the van stock.

Forscan?
I wonder whether it's possible to use Forscan to do the speedo adjustment.
In generall that should be possbile depending on the year of the car.
I read a couple of threads :
https://forscan.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2650
Some helpful spreadsheet :
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...EqU/edit#gid=0
for the moment my findings are:
- it could be possible using forscan
- may be it's not possbile for model years after 2008 ??
- newer trucks, 2015+ have different AS-Build-Data
- you need the extended license of Forscan
Does anyone of you ever did this with Forscan?
How about the SCT X4 flash? Currenty this device tells me -> my vehicle (E350, 2014) is unknown.
Do I need some custome tunes for the X4?
