For me it was. I have an Atlas II that was in a cherokee and is going in my wrangler, and the lower range and being strong (along with the dana 60 up front). Also, I'm used to being bigger than everyone else offroad (the downsized cherokee wheelbase compared to short wheel base wranglers that I wheel with) so the turning radius was an issue that was also important.
I feel like the system is more bomb proof and designed to do something more, bigger, better than Quigley.
If you're just using it for snow and dirt roads, the occasional trip down a questionable riverbank or on a beach, I don't think it's necessarily worth it. If you're going mountain goating or have a yen to know what's down every dirt road no matter how small... probably.
I like being able to put it in 2wd low range too, only because it keeps me checked on hard packed dirt roads that I otherwise would go too fast on and find out at a chuckhole or drop off.
