That's what I use the socket for. If you get the right size socket you can tap in the insert with the disconnect mounted making it easier to install the washer and pin. I hate to have to pull the disconnect back off to re-position that sleeve.

Re: Sway Bar Disconnecting and Reconnecting

Someone should see if you can use the electronic dis-connecting swaybar from a Dodge Power Wagon. Just push a button & it disconnects. Push the other button & it re-connects--on level ground.

Re: Sway Bar Disconnecting and Reconnecting

Do they make anything like the anti-rock sway bar for full size rigs? Something for a F350 that could be adapted?

Re: Sway Bar Disconnecting and Reconnecting

I would also like to hear about your Electronic disconnect. I haven't seen anything aftermarket yet. I keep browsing the junk yards in hopes of finding a Dodge Ram PowerWagon (which have an elctric front sway bar disconnect. Nothing so far...

Re: Sway Bar Disconnecting and Reconnecting

Guys-
If you park the van on flat ground, it's not tough to re-install the links. Disconnecting the sway bar makes such a difference in comfort and ride on rough ground that even if it were hard to re-connect, it would be worth it.

P.S. FLAT GROUND!!!!

And pushing up the PH top isn't that bad either, but pushing a button is so much cooler

Re: Sway Bar Disconnecting and Reconnecting

I first designed it for my land cruiser because i did not want to lay on a muddy wet ground then get in and get my seats all nasty. so i want something that made it easy to lock in. When i was done having the sway bay unlocked push the button on on the first part of level ground it locks back up.
