Sway bar disconnects

Ive got an IPD sway bar in front. Basically it connects via a vertical threaded rod at the top, the bottom being a bushing within an eyebolt that is connected to the axle with about a 1/2" bolt. It seems I could replace that bolt with something as simple as one of my extra hitch pins and then I'd have a quick disconnect. I'd need something upon which to secure the bar and rod from tHrashing about as well.

Anything else I'd need to consider?
