It’s like picking up your second new SMB within the same year! Congratulations on getting this all worked out, looking forward to hearing how the new configuration works for you.

Momentum Van Modifications May-Aug 2019

Van has been dropped off at Momentum Vans in Arlington WA for modifications while I’m at sea again.

Brian and Brianna, the owners of Momentum Vans, are fairly new on the NW van scene but are putting out some really fantastic work. The fit and finish of their work is just beautiful. I love seeing this kind of pride in workmanship. They are of huge benefit to our NW van scene. You can follow them on Instagram as well.

For us, it’s an ever continued quest for perfection and improvement.

The van had a couple issues which needed repair, and in addition I wanted a couple items improved:
1. Location of controls and access - Both on main control panels and wiring runs in overheads. Placement of D5 controls where we wanted. Redo main control panel.
2. Leaks - minor leaks, modifications will allow easier access.
3. Vehicle start battery drain- addition of battery tender to rectify this issue when van is stored.
4. Addition of Blue Seas Panels - improve versatility and ease of use.
5. Possible overhead liner work - this will depend on access and if the work is feasible, which is still being researched. I would prefer access to wiring runs and roof penetrations.

The main work list is attached.

I will post photos as the work progresses.

Momentum Van Refit

The Momentum Van work is in full gear. Attached are a few photos as the work progresses:
1. Scanstrut roof penetrations
2. Overhead Liner Rework IOT allow full access

Just a couple of the items that are underway. I’ll report on all as MV continues with the work as well as a more detailed report when complete, including in-depth reports on new battery tender, Blue Seas 110/12V panel.

We have moved our build to Momentum as it became more custom: moving to a 144" high roof, 720 ah Lithium Mastervolt system, Agile 28 gl tank in the rear wheel well; VC stage 6; and mostly Roambuilt accessories, with 285/75/17 beadlocks. I was able to get a van delivered this November to them and completion in Spring. So far I am enjoying working with Brian and Momentum. SMB couldn't commit until 2021.

Backcountryguy, we will be following this thread with keen interest. Thanks for the info!

Nice panel! Have to see if that would work with the Mastervolt system. Thanks

MV Blue Seas Panel

The new panel installed. Replaced the SMB panel and added more slots, ran several items back direct to panel. Details on that at a latter post.
