Air Conditioner

I am considering doing a SMB conversion and would like Air Conditioning. I need feedback on the roof mount versus Danhard units: noise, effect on mileage, able to cool van interior, etc.

Thanks,

Sinbad

Re: Air Conditioner

Will be interested in answers. We did not do A/C. I used the dash unit to cool on afternoon a few weeks ago in Oregon with no problems but A/C would be nice sometimes. Even thought about a retro-fit. We had Eurovans and Westfalia's for years so got use to no A/C.

Regards,

Keith

Re: Air Conditioner

Hi,

Yes, I also had a VW Westfalia (no A/C at all), Ford Aerostar, Chrysler Town and Country and now a Toyota Sienna mini vans all with pop tops and no A/C when stopped. We seem to be in places where everyone else has A/C and can sleep, but we are kept up until the van cools enough to fall asleep.

We might be getting to the stage of having more room and being able to enjoy warm places.

Re: Air Conditioner

Sinbad, I see that you also posted the same question under General-Technical. See my reply there.
