Re: Comment on my new design

I was asking the dry camping question because of the size of the black water tank in your proposed design. Each adult can fill it with about 0.5 gallon of waste+water per day. Dry camping you will need a way to empty it every 5 days or so if used by two adults full time.

That agrees with my experience that 4 of us nearly filled our 26 gal black tank in 10 days (.65 gal per person per day). Nancy at Huntington SMB says the tank they use under the marine toilet only holds 5 gal. I will work on finding a way to increase that.

Re: Comment on my new design

David,

I missed your thread the first time around and wanted to follow up on your build.

First, what program was that that you used to lay out your build? That looks handy for this kind of thing.

What did you finally end up with? You had some decisions to be made.

How is the process going for you.

Thanks.

Re: Comment on my new design

Hi Chum,

I used Adobe Illistrator CS5. It worked great but I did spend a lot of time on it. I found sprinter drawings online and used them to define the space I had to work with.

I continued with my plans on this topic: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=9193

I will visit SMB Indiana again Tuesday July 3 and will report progress in the above link.

Hey!!!! Near the end of your photo gallery there is a pic of side door screen door. Does the screen roll up OR as it looks doe it slide sideways from the front. Looks like a design I might work in our van.

Re: Comment on my new design

The screen slides sideways and the pleated screen folds up inside the mounting. The screen is made by Seiki Screen Systems and it was on a van we rented and I posted more photos here:

I plan to install this on my van (SMB Indiana does not want to do it).
