Spotty signal. Just drove over Tioga Pass and turned south on 395 toward Bishop. Beautiful drive through the park and over the Pass, get out here and do it if you have the chance! Bishop next, then on up to Coyote Flat.

Sprinter IS Coyote Flats Compatible

I'll try and post some pictures when I get some time, just wanted to report back that the Sprinter made it up and back in fine form. Is it a trip to take lightly in a Sprinter - no, but the Sprinter proved very capable on some tricky terrain, doing everything we asked it to do as it made its way up to over 9,800 feet. Glad I had the skid plates, they definitely saw some use!

Campsite on Coyote Flat

Just a couple of pictures from the cool at 9,810 feet. We found this campsite and could go no further.

Laura enjoying the afternoon view.

Getting ready for the stars to come out

Want to go there? Here are the coordinates from the chair I was sitting in next to the fire:

We are climbing Mt. Whitney next Tuesday and then hoping to hit Coyote flats and Silver Canyon on our way back up to Oregon.

Go in and out from the Bishop end. I spoke to an experienced driver with a fully set up Rubicon who came in from the Lone Pine end and he said there was no way he was going back out that way.

Please come back here with comments, curious to hear what you have to say about the route!

Did you nab any pics of the gnarly spots? Do you have full skid plates front to rear?
