Ford Transit chassis, no 4x4, but 3” or so lift.

We currently have a 2001 Diesel Ford E350 with 4x4 (Quigley build) and hard top. We have never “really” needed or used the 4x4 but have appreciated the clearance traveling down dirt Forest Service or BLM roads suitable for normal clearance 2 wheel drive pickups. Now in our 70’s and this being our 2nd previously owned Sportsmobile, we are looking at a Ford Transit LB with highest available lift (2” plus inch or so larger tires), but no 4x4 to match our previous experiences. Need the LB to accommodate our aging needs (will tow a small Jeep CJ-7as gear hauler:canoes, bicycles, hiking gear) for more comfort features like indoor shower and “real” bed. VERY worried about the rear exit height. Any experiences out there with this Transit build ( has Eco boost for towing capacity) on long wheelbase.
