Lake Powell Camping

Pretty familiar with the lake and the area around bullfrog. It does all depend on where you'll be on the lake. There are not many places outside of the marina areas that have water access, Stanton creek at bullfrog is a primitive camping spot with boat launch access from some spots down on the water. Not as secluded as being in Escalante canyon, but not bad for being close to the marina, we camp there when we arrive the night before we launch. There is plenty to explore just around and just out of bullfrog bay by kayak. Across bullfrog bay is halls crossing, less traveled, not much there. Down south outside of page is lone rock, big sprawling beach with launch access and tons of RV's with all the toys, fun if that's your thing, we stopped there for a few nights once and pulled up next to another SMB, after a tip from someone else with a rig, it also happened to be when Powellpalooza was going on, had no idea.....

Lake Powell Camping

Oh ya, the striper fishing in bullfrog can be really good, as well as large and small mouth bass along the rocky shores and brush in the little coves. Pick up a bag of frozen sardines from the gas station or marina before heading out, if they are feeding on top or you see boils or slurps, throw out a plastic grub or fish, you're sure to hook up.
