Maiden voyage update

Took my first trip in the new 2017 4x4 Lo roof/PH 144" 150s. Spent 5 days out of Quartsite, AZ. With a buddy and his GXV beast. My goal was to run all systems full blown and test everything in real use senaro. All systems preformed as designed, I was extremely happy with my porta potti never had one never used one, fresh as a daisy after 4 days use granted it was a solo trip. I followed my buddy and his GXV in nice 4 wheel terrain without issues. I'm not a rock crawler and even with my ARB folding running boards I was very comfortable with clearance issues, I did order skid plates from Van Compass just for comfort factor. Espar 5 heater was a bit louder than expected at night woke me up a few times but I don't plan to use during the night if I don't t have to. Slept two nights in penthouse and two down lo, both comfortable I did order a 2" memory foam pad after the trip the cushions are a little firm for me. Al in all loved the van and the build can't wait for more. I attached a few

Ditto! After all the planning and waiting it’s time to get out there and use it!
Congratulations!

Nice, always great to see them in the wild! I'm considering a electric bike, one concern is battery recharging when off grid. Do you input on that?

Thanks

Yes those other rigs are awesome...but both commented on how they wish they had the versatility and practicality at times.
As for the Ebike my Rad Power is a great addition I have 400amps house batts, 200w solar and 2800w inverter, all charged what I needed and worked like a charm. I carry a spare Ebike batt so one is full at all times.

I got a RadMini and plan on using the heck out of it on trips. I may swing for an extra battery for additional flexibility.

What do you think of your hood wrap? is that Raptor lining material or is it something else? I was thinking of doing that to our Sprinter, it currently isn't in the build spec.
