Re: My SMB-S Build

Those are the nicest rim I've ever seen on a sprinter and the dualies set it off. Gonna take a bit of elboe grease but very nice.

Re: My SMB-S Build

ilovegt100,

I live in Austin and am just starting the process of getting an SMB. Your Sprinter was one of the vans used by Paul to show us various options. I'll say your pictures do not do it justice. It is one beautiful SMB.

I'm getting pretty excited and nervous about our SMB build and I live 10 minutes from SMB. I cannot imagine the anticipation of a long distance build.

I'm curious how extensively you had the dynomat used and how much that upgrade ended up costing?

I saw your van this Friday. Hope it blows you away in person.

I saw you ask about places to try it out around Austin. Right now I use a trailer camper with no battery so I've always used the local State Parks for the power hookups. My favorite would be Pedernales State Park. Between 1-1:30h from SMB. Closer, and actually inside Austin, you have Emma Long State Park and McKinney Falls State Park. About a 2h drive from SMB is Inks Lake State park. None are very crowded this time of year. Most of my fellow Texans seem to avoid the slightly cold weather we get.

My SMB-S Build

Skijunkie,

Hope that it was inspiring in person. I have been saving, lurking, and planning for more than 5 years. I come in Tuesday and will be around until Thursday checking things out. I will need to get supplies in the area after arrival- any suggestions? Also, will likely boondock nearby for first two nights trying to break stuff before leaving town. Any can't miss things in Austin? Let me know if you want to see it in full glory after orientation and outfitting.

So stoked you cannot believe!

Re: My SMB-S Build

Looks fantastic !!

That monitor atop your dashboard... is is FLIR specific or a general purpose screen ??

And if it's general purpose - what kind is it ??

Thanks,

Yes and yes. Switches between flir and rear integrated 3rd light camera. Anybody want night running with no lights?

Dynamat runs through vehicle. You can see it better on the earlier pics i posted. Hope it makes a difference in noise and is installed as to not cause condensation issues.
