New Sprinter Owner!

I pickup my Sprinter in a couple of weeks. I am looking for any info, good or bad and what experiences Sprinter owners have had. Sold my truck and trailer for the free life of a SMB.

Thanks!

Good luck with your new Sprinter!! We picked ours up in July and have put over 10,000 miles on it so far. We've been averaging about 20 mpg city/highway (65-75 mph), low of 17+ (major head wind), high of 23+ (major tail wind).

Have had a couple of issues with the Sprinter, faulty TPMS sensor and a leaky differential, all under warranty. This has happened only once, but the Sprinter went into "limp mode" (no codes) on our way back from a trip. It corrected itself after we turned the engine off and back on again. I think there has been an issue with this on other Sprinters. Hopefully, we don't have that happen again, especially in traffic!!

As to the SMB conversion, we've had some issue with the ability of the two motors to lift the penthouse roof in one continuous movement; however, it does work. No other problems have surfaced.

We replaced the stock radio with a Kenwood Excelon DNX 8120 with built-in Garmin navigation. It looks like a factory installation, and so far, it's been a great unit!! Better be for the price.

All in all, we are really enjoying our Sprinter SMB and looking forward to doing a lot more traveling. Have fun with yours!

Thanks for info

What is the TPMS sensor? Glad that you are having a great time with yours! I am looking forward to using it on my travels. Down sized from a 28 ft. trailer and want to get in to smaller areas.

Thanks

I'd guess it's the Tire Pressure Monitoring Sytem (TPMS).
