one more time.......Sprinter 4X4

I know there's plenty of old threads about 4X4 Sprinters. I haven't seen anything recent, so I'm curious if there are
any T1N (inline 5) Sprinter owners in the US that have converted their Sprinter to 4WD.
If so, where was it done?

My Boss is having a T2 done right now. I know that White Feather does the T1 Sprinter.
I can't tell you how his new Sprinter drives yet but (just got the message that it arrived in the US)I will review as soon as he picks it up. I will have to drive it up from WA to AK in Febuary.

Not bad being paid to drive your boss' rig. Driving it from WA to AK in February? That doesn't sound very fun.

I would really like to hear from someone who's had a T1 done. It's never good to be the first one
to get operated on.

OK-One more time.
I own the other (not the red one) T1n 4x4 (It' gray )
Conversion can be done @ Upscale Automotive (The Sprinter Store)in Oregon.
You can read all about it on the site.
OR- you can watch my van.ENJOY!

Sorry to say but the video shows perfect that this van can do many things perfect but going off road.
It has a flex like a brick!

I contacted Upscale. They are not converting the T1N because Mercedes stopped selling them the parts.
I guess they are converting the later models (2007+).

Re: one more time.......Sprinter 4X4

Yea-it's a brick! It did better when I disconnected the heavy duty rear sway bar.And yea it's still a brick.Sorry that many people can only look at the video and tell me all the things that it can't do. Of course it does have it's limitations,BUT it has gotten me just about anywhere that I wanted to go.As with any 4x4 YOU need to pay attention to what you can and can't do.So much depends on how you approach things. So far I've had it on the beach,in snow, off road at Hollister hills and the Jeep trails in Sedona And have yet to be towed out.So while I'm out there having a blast offroad-You can sit there in your chair and dis it all you want
We can still get the parts from MB-Not from the OEM.That situation tripled the cost!So John set off on his own and developed a system that is very similar to what Mantra has done. You can see the new setup on the site.I actually think his design is better than what I have.No black box,No pumps,No switches. It is a completely manual system. All you do is pull a lever(on the fly). The suspension is fully adjustable on the fly.AND it's going to cost a bit over 20k.Please NO whining about the price! It is what it is and no one is going to get rich doing it.
Now if you want a 9"lift and a straight Ford axle, divorced transfer case, wheels with spacers.Go see Whitefeather!

Re: one more time.......Sprinter 4X4

I must correct my last post.Starting to think I'm a little dyslexic at times.
The Salem-Kroger conversions that I have seen have approximately 6" lift.
My van is a 3" lift.
