Just thought I would add another vendor to that list. I have used Van Haus in Vancouver, WA for some work and have seen first hand the work that was going on with several vans in the shop while I was there. I think they do nice work.

Agile Offroad Post-conversion Work

After several conversations with different outfits I decided to have all the post-conversion work completed at Agile Offroad. I've been pleased with the conversations I've had with John Brindle and Jesus Hernandez. The suspension work in particular has generated great conversations. I admit also that the post-conversion work being completed by one upfitter lines up with our plans for a trip to Joshua Tree and ski area tour on the way north just before I need to head back to sea for work.

I'll share the comprehensive work list below.

Feels good to decide, doesn’t it? Great list, I am sure you will be happy.

Question: I see you are adding the wheel spacers, what wheel/tire combo are you planning on installing?

Fitz,

Still up in the air on that, although currently the SMB build is for 265/70-17 KO2s. The spacers added by Agile Offroad for another combination in their estimate but may not be part of the work.

I have 265/70R17 A/T tires on my TRD Pro 4Runner on 17-in rims, like them quite a bit.

Even though we ordered wheels in our production at SMB West we may decide to take the stock configuration down to Agile and have them do the retrofit.

As part of the overall configuration going forward we will put studded tires on for winter ski area use down the road.

I asked Agile to add all they thought might be needed for the work, with the idea we will perhaps take things off but won't add.

It does.bring up a good discussion topic. I reached out to Agile on their recommended configuration for tires/rims based on their RIP.

Roam Built's wheels can be ordered with a custom offset so you don't need spacers. I believe they're 800 a wheel.

The topic of tires and wheels for a Sprinter build may be a good one to start a new thread on.

I have Method Wheels with BFG KO2 265-70R17 (31.6"x10.43") tires, a fairly common option with the current Sprinter 4wd’s.

There are several threads, both here and on other forums, where BFG KO2 285’s have been fitted and seem to run ok with front wheel-well plastic trimming required.

With my 265’s the measured clearance from the tire to the stock strut is 0.36”, just a bit less than the 0.40” required by calculation. This measurement is to the plastic strut cover and I am confident that the cover could be trimmed or worn away, I would be curious to get direct feedback from those running BFG KO2 285’s. Where do they rub?

I have seen plenty of threads discussing BFG KO2 265’s and BFG KO2 285’s, but never have I seen anything about BFG KO2 275’s. From what I can see, the 275’s may represent the largest tire size that can be easily run without adding the (very nice) Van Compass 2” Lift kit which gets you up to 315’s.

I have an Aluminess front bumper which adds clearance to the front over the stock bumper. I have just under 20k on my BKG KO2 265’s and they are wearing GREAT, but I think I will move to the 275’s when the time comes. Any comments?

For reference:
Stock 245/75/16’s - Diameter = 30.5”, Width = 9.6”
BFG KO2 265’s - Diameter = 31.6”, Width = 10.4”
BFG KO2 275’s - Diameter = 32.2”, Width = 10.8”
BFG KO2 285’s - Diameter = 32.7”, Width = 11.2”

Looking for feedback!

Fitz, Agile Offroad uses a 275/70/17 tire. I think I'll go with BFG A/T in that size.
