Sprinter mileage

I know some have been curious about mileage with the V-6. Here are the first numbers I have . . .

City driving with the longest distance being 40 miles . . . speeds from 25mph to 70mph

5/12 17.1 mpg
5/22 16.7 mpg

Distance driving, 323 miles at 65 mph on cruise control

5/28 18.6 mpg

Guess I'll have to try 55 mph next.

Regards,

Keith

Fuel!

Hi Everybody!

I just bought an EcoBox for my Sprinter. It supposed to save fuel usage up to 12% and gave my car a bit more power. they have the product on: www.chiptuning.ca.

Please keep us updated on the mileage. I would like to know if you really get 12% or whatever. Crude is up again today - lots.

Regards,

Keith

Hi All,

I had my DRL's disabled at the Dodge dealer and after one tank of fuel my mileage went up by 1 mpg both on the ScanGuage and calculating the average mileage for the tank by hand. You may want to give it a try and see if you get similar results.

I had the work done at South County Dodge in Gilroy. It took about 30 min and cost $60, no appointment necessary.

Cheers,
Fred

Re: Sprinter mileage

Our new second hand 06 2500 140WB high roof Sprinter Cargo van is getting
25 mpg
mixed driving so far. It has yet to be converted/camperized. Previous owner reported 24-25 mpg mixed (city/highway) driving.
Like that it drove a nine hour trip through the mountains and still registered a half a tank of gas.

With my previous vehicle (Plymouth Voyageur) I tried some additive products called Bitron (?) and it increased the gas mileage significantly. I noticed it when I had been on the highway seven hours one time without a fill up, when normally I could only go five hours without a fill up.
Have yet to check whether Bitron products would be appropriate for the Sprinter 06 diesel. Would be interested to see how it could improve the gas mileage.

C'mon Steve. At 25mph you'd get better mileage too!
