1994 Ford EB pop top question

All,

I am looking at a 1994 EB sportsmobile that needs quite a bit of work and restroration. The pop top hangs over the rain gutter on one side. The other side is exactly where it should be in the gutter. This does not seem right but the seller said he was told by sportsmobile it is correct?

The top I have on my 2001 sits inside the gutters as well as every other one I have seen. Can anybody confirm the older poptops hang over the gutter on one side?

Thanks in advance.

Rob

Every smb top I've seen seats on the rail on both sides. No matter how old it was. I'd say that seller is full of, well... you know. I'd steer clear personally.

It seems weird to me also. The gentleman I think is very honest as I think it was probably that way when he bought it years ago. It doesn’t seem right though. The rain gutter under that side of the van looks like it has never seen any sun. It’s like the top is too big for it.

The other thing that’s is different the ribs in the top are rounded not flat. The ones on mine are flat. Any input on that?

I forgot to take pictures and I know all these post are useless without pictures.

Thanks in advance.

So here is a bad picture of it, but you can zoom in on it. This van was posted by another member asking the value of the van. I went and looked at it today. The top hanging over makes me nervous.

I've got a 95 and my top is almost identical. Passenger side fits perfectly in the rain gutter drivers side not so much. I've only owned mine for 3 months but it's seen some PNW rain and doesn't leak.
