I think the folks who have demanded "brake over-ride" controls should be sued. It's ridiculous that new vehicles can't be power-braked.

Any throttle by wire or computer controlled device, to me, is subject to erratic behavior or 'having a mind of its own', given the right (or wrong) circumstance.

Welcome to the technology age. We'll see it over & over.

Pre technology (or relative to the era), a throttle cable could/can stick, a floor mat can creep under your throttle, or your drum brakes could go away (overheat/fade), and on and on...

Cars, trucks, motorcycles, Boeings (smell for smoke!!!) etc... Quirks will happen.
How you and I catch it, or don't catch it will be the difference.

And then there's the sue happy.
