Adding aux input to OEM radio (2010 Ford E250)

Hi everyone.

I tried searching this subject before creating a thread but found a lot of stuff out of subject and not much information.

I simply want to know if I can add an aux input on my OEM ford E250 radio, just like the picture, I would be ok with a cable sticking out from a panel.

Is there a plug in the back that I could plug an audio mini jack 1/8 into or something?

I'm ok with the Radio itself, I don't need anything better or louder, just want to add an input for my mp3 player (phone)

Ok I'm also planning on adding a GPS and 7" monitor / rear camera. But I'm on a tight budget and I don't want to attract a car thief's attention either. Please let me know what you would do!

Thanks!

Is that a RCA jack for auxiliary input under the right center air vent?

I added one to my 2008 E-350 and my prior 2002 F-350. There's no simple plug in the back. You need to add a dongle from here
http://pac-audio.com/
or maybe here:

They're anywhere from $40 to $100, but they do work!

Good luck

Phil

No aux input, I only wanted to show the radio model I had.

Re: Adding aux input to OEM radio (2010 Ford E250)

If your radio is the same, it doesn't look like there is any way to change the input (i.e., no way to select AUX), so I would think it might not work.

Another option is an FM transmitter. It plugs into your phone, then you set your radio to the transmitting frequency. Not audiophile quality, but cheap & effective.

Cheers,
Brent

If you decide to go the FM route, an FM modulator is the way to go. It takes over the FM frequency as opposed to just using a frequency that isn't used. You wire in a power switch and when you switch it on, the modulator takes over. When the switch is off, you get all your FM frequencies like normal.

I'd buy a basic $120 Sony single-DIN from Crutchfield and install that instead. Probably less hassle and you'll get Bluetooth, iPod connectivity, etc. I did that for my dad in his 2012 with the same radio you have and he's very happy with it.
