Here is my current van EB and my old van RB both with Rockers done. Buddy of mine bought my old 7.3 PSD and I just put the windows in his drivers and passengers side. I'm particular on where the rocker is blacked out, I like it at the top of the in dent on the rocker, not the bottom or the middle... but that's just me...

Oh should add that upol raptor liner is tint able, so if you wanted to do a darker gray tint to your gray/silver it's possible. But I'd go with black if it was me 86Scotty's van gives you a good idea of what you'll get.

Thank you to everyone who has posted so far! If anyone else has pics, I'd love to see them. This is really helping me.

MSD, the resolution on your pic was too low for me to see the impact of the location of the line. I can clearly see 86 Scotty's line just below the indent. I'm glad you brought up the alternative. Now I'm going to have to figure that one, out, too.

I am going to look into color matching. I'll see what I can find out. Has anyone out there successfully color matched a silver van with LineX/Raptor?

Hey, this might seem like a stupid question....(aren't they all, at first? Hehe...)

....but what truly drives the need/desire to Line-X the lower body?

Is it mostly for rust prevention?

If so, I'm a bit stumped as to the actual likely effectiveness of that....since I understand that most sheetmetal rust actually starts inside the panels, where moisture (and potentially road salt) linger.....not on the body panels' outside surfaces. And it seems that if rust control is indeed the goal, then the entire underbody of the van (frame & untreated iron/steel suspension/driveline members) would probably benefit most from such a coating....though that would probably make any future disassembly of, or maintenance on components underneath a royal PITA.

Or....is it more to control stone chips? Paint/appearance preservation?

Here I'm curious too --- mostly because OEM-applied (right from the factory) standard lower-body paint finishes are usually already a high-durability, "stippled" or rippled, rubberized finish to begin with. (Color matched to the main body.) Even my 1995 E-series has it applied along the rockers, I believe....it seems to do a half-decent job of keeping chips under control.

Or....is it purely an aesthetic choice? Done simply to increase the rugged look of the van?

I can dig that.

I just did mine in black with monstaliner. Cost about $160 and took about 8 hours to apply 2 coats with a roller. I did it to cover up the teal paint on the lower portions. I think it looks great.

Agree, visually, it takes about 5-10 years off the age of the van.
