You have to sand and ruff up the paint for the liner to stick well. Not much beyond that, but it is critical.
I know there was some talk about painting fiberglass fender flares on the jeep forum, in the monstaliner thread, probably find it if you do a search.
My opinion, (guess) is that a liner like herculiner that has some flexibility would do fine, but a harder ones like monstaliner might not do as well. But that is a complete guess.
Hey Spoolin - Looks awesome! Does that rough LineX finish collect dirt in the crevices? Do you need to use a scrubbing brush sometimes when it gets really dirty?

Sorry for the long reply, was out of the country.
To clean it I power wash it. A brush would work fine but better a stiff one than a soft one. And it does collect dirt more than a paint job normally does but it's not that bad.

I just did mine last week. Replaced all the bolts, nuts and washers and sprayed over them.

I used Henry's roofing compound. It's elastomeric paint and needs to be thinned with dihydrogen monoxide.I tinted it a chocolate milk color, sanded and wiped down with mineral spirits and painted it on with a brush. A gallon did almost the entire floor of my SWB Chevy and was a bunch cheaper. Any elastomeric paint will work.
