Re: Bed lining the side or rocker panels.

I was thinking of coating my entire Toyota Sunrader motorhome (has fiberglass shell) with something like Monstaliner but Monstaliner is too expensive.

You really don't think the expensive stuff is any tougher? I'll look into this more but if that's true then you just saved me hundreds of dollars!

Re: Bed lining the side or rocker panels.

Anyone have, or could get me some pics of your tape lines on the doors and jambs. I just got my raptor liner kit in and have to think how I am going to do my masking.
Thanks.

Re: Bed lining the side or rocker panels.

Any ideas about using the 289 on the outside of the van? I saw considering using Raptor or Monsta liner tinted but this might be a cheaper alternative if it will hold up to UV. Maybe an additive?

Re: Bed lining the side or rocker panels.

Another possibility might be some of the new wood/concrete deck paints. They are flexible, tintable in a range of colors, pretty inexpensive and give good coverage. The stuff I got for another project was about $35/gal, color tint included. Got to be tough as hell too if it is designed to be used on decks and in full sun.

I want to cover the 80's graphics on my van and after seeing how well it worked on wood, I sanded a small section of the van with 220 grit and rolled on a sample of the 2x. Looks pretty good and is surprisingly smooth though it did not cover as well as I was expecting. I'll try some of the 4x next time. I suspect the 10x would look a lot like a full Line-X paint job, it has a pretty coarse surface texture.

Incidentally I did try adding some sand to a small sample as well. Poured sand onto a wet first coat, let it dry, brushed off the excess then did a second coat, all to see if it would also give a good non-skid surface for the PH top. Seems to work really well, so well you don't want to kneel on it in shorts!
