Diesel Engines

Does Sportsmobile do conversions with the 7.3L PSD from Ford or just the 6.0L? How rare is a 7.3L among SMBs?

There are lots of SMBs out there with the 7.3 diesel. It was the only diesel offered by Ford till the 6.0 came out. You won't find any new ones, but keep an eye out for used Sportsmobiles and you're sure to see some with the 7.3

anyone tried and was successful in curbing the noise of the diesel entering the cab, i.e,. insulating dog house, front fire wall, wrapping turbo, manifold, etc....

and if so, any difference....

When I was looking into getting a Sportsmobile from scratch earlier this year, Jonathan told that me that they only retrofit (at least the 4x4 system) vans only within 3 or 4 model years of the current model year. Probably to minimize the number of configurations of custm parts on different model year vans.
