I agree with you about them being a bit slippery when wet, but that's easily solved with some anti-slip tape.

For me, they feel very solid, and if installed correctly should be very stable. They have multiple fastener points, and the heavy steel brackets attach directly to the frame as well. Mine don't bend at all, even with two people standing on them (I tried).

My Onki's are fine. Wanted something like the Uhaul boards without paying to chrome them.

They are not tubes but tracked underneath. Mount them however you want.

At some point I'll be making 2" square tube frame mounts but modular hardware AND factory running board hardware make them rock solid right now.

I am starting to wonder if maybe mine weren't tightened down all the way. Either way they were coming off because of how slick they were when wet (PNW Problems) and I wasn't about to throw a bunch of grip tape all over the top ha ha. But even when my wife would step on them (all 120 lbs) you could see it flex down towards the ground.

Decided on the Luverne Mega Steps

Thought I'd follow up on this post with what I decided on. Just posted pics of the Luverne Mega Step Nerf Bars (and Bushwackers) on my build thread here:

I like my running boards/ground effects, would be hard to do without. Would be a real PITA for me and kido's and the wife would never let me hear the end of it. Would rather have the nerf bars for added ground clearance tho.

Nice looking van and totally with ya there! I can't say enough about how much better this has worked out for us on a daily basis. Getting in is no longer a "haul" and getting out feels so much safer. And, for the first time, I can easily access the interior through the double doors.

I'm glad I went with a nice wide board, especially exiting the vehicle.

Excellent choice. For a van with chrome bumpers, chrome running boards are best look IMO. Nice clean look. Some beefier fender flares would really change the look, not sure if they are made for the vans tho.
