Re: EB Ford Window Van - Window Tint Options

Thats a great deal to get all your windows tinted. I paid $300 for my SMB and that was just the side barn doors, rear doors and two small side windows. I think you'll be happy with the % you chose.

I'm building out a motovan, too, but I think I want to completely black out the windows in the rear and sides (a backup camera and compatible head unit are currently en route to my house). I just really don't like the idea of parking the van on the way to/from the track, and have someone be able to see the two racebikes in the back.

Is there a purpose-made product for this, or should I just get some heavy black vinyl and go nuts back there?

Vinyl will be cheapest but I've always liked limo tint (2%) over the factory tint which is about 20%. It will basically be one way glass, so you'll still be able to see out of it during the day but no one will see in. You may want to drive a no-window van before you commit to vinyl or paint, especially with an EB. Even with a rear camera it's hard to merge, etc. with no usable side windows.

Another option that I saw and liked was perforated wrap on the outside of the windows. The van was white and the wrap on the windows was white. Made for a cool look. You could not see in during the day and it was bright enough inside so that it did not feel claustrophobic. Seeing outside was not a problem.

You can buy this for the inside of the windows and it's static cling so can be easily removed. Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Matrix-Static...dp/B00TPXRKUG/
