I Line-x'ed my whole Van...

So my Factory Paint was starting to go and I had recently gotten "key'ed" so I decided instead of painting my Van, that I should Line-x it. I've never seen one done in person but I've heard of people doing it before. So I decided to give it a shot and see how it came out. I think it came out great.

Here's a close-up of the Texture...

I have to go back tomorrow or Tuesday so that the shop can touch up a few parts and paint the Horizontal Bar across my Grill Green instead of having the whole grill Black, but I really like it so far.

What do you guys think?

I like it a lot. Is that OD green?

You'll find that after a while, it will take on a more matte appearance as it accumulates dirt, but its a great material.

That looks great. What do the transitions look like inside the door seams, etc?

That's a kick-ass light bar it's got too.

But why's the van wrapped up like it got a toothache?

Color was mixed by the Tech, it's a mix between Army Green and Olive Green. They added a Top Coat to it to prevent UV rays from causing the colors to fade over time. I'm also gonna try and keep the Van indoors, this color should it ever fade shouldn't be too noticeable.

I bought a Pop-Top but haven't gotten a chance to install it yet, but I wanted it to match the Paint Code they used so I brought them the Pop Top to Coat as well.
Seems roll into the Van, I'll take some pictures of door sills and fenders and what not but where they could they just kept going. The bottom of the Hood looks like this...

You can see from the Drivers side front fender that they kept going into the engine bay with it as well. Was nicely done IMO.

I had it done by a Line-x dealer. Ended up being cheaper than a paint job would have cost and it's way more durable and adds some other fun characteristics aside from aesthetics that made it worth the time and money to do it such as NVH reduction and some slight insulation.

That looks awesome!
Mine needs paint I've been thinking about trying the Camo tan Plastidip, but might be worth stopping by the Line-x shop to get a quote.

Re: I Line-x'ed my whole Van...

Any idea how much weight that added? My pop top got significantly heavier after having it done. My understanding is the Line-X material can be applied thinner than other coatings like Rhino but it still builds up.

FYI - inspect your rain gutters to insure proper coating in the crevices. My Baja Tan UV treated Line-X still looks great after 3+ years.

Looks really cool! And I like the grille all black, personally.

What does something like that cost (ballpark)? I'm thinking of getting my Ford painted, but the estimates I'm getting are pretty high.
