Re: Installing new tow mirrors on a 2002 e350

From what I see, you might have to drill more holes and add longer bolts to the mirror so they come through both sides instead of having access holes, sounds like it depends on your door as much as your year but the outside should fit if you can make the holes.

I have yet to start my mirror project and my van is newer, so I'm trying to interpret what's shown in this thread too.

Some people said they cut-off one of the studs. I will leave all the studs on the mirror and drill away.

Russ, did you ever get these installed and if so, any problems?

Da Comrade. The entire body has not changed much since 1992.

Re: Installing new tow mirrors on a 2002 e350

Good day, Gents. I wanted to do the opposite, and put the smaller mirrors on mine. Does anyone want to trade a set of mirrors? I have the Tow mirrors but wanted to put the small double mirrors that comes on the 07. Mine are mint as my van only has 18k on it.

Re: Installing new tow mirrors on a 2002 e350

I'll have a set once I upgrade mine, I'd certainly trade for the tow mirrors. "Once" means when it's warm enough to take apart the doors. If not I'll be selling them anyway.

Yeah, trade Paul- his are already off. Plus he got me the tow-mirrors in the first place, and he will make MUCH better use of them.

Re: Installing new tow mirrors on a 2002 e350

I put them on my 99 and had to make hols bigger and drill on new hole just below door panel. And I just put them on my 2003 and those bolt right on no drilling . You have to pull the door panels for the 4th bottom hole.

Re: Installing new tow mirrors on a 2002 e350

I got some 2005 power mirrors with blind spot mirror, not towing ones, to fit on my 2002 and I have the same issue. (2002 is 3 small holes, only 2 line up with 4 larger mounts on 2005 mirrors)

It looks like there is a big structural bracket where the 2nd top hole would go.

Also the power connector are different. I don't really want to cut the connectors off the old mirrors, I was hoping someone could re-use them.
