Need four other lovers of the color green

I just found out that it is not possible to get an E-350 Cargo Van in Forest Green like I wanted unless I order five. Are there four other folks considering a new SMB in green that want to go in on this with me?

You just hit on the primary reason our van is white instead the red we wanted.

I've also seen under Ford's special vehicle program (or something like that) you can get some interesting colors and some interesting two-tone paint jobs, but again, with a minimum order of five.

I think that's kind of the plan at this point, though maybe Earl Shieb instead. We are going to go with our second choice of Pueblo Gold and repaint in a few years if we feel it's necessary. Forest Green with a gold engine compartment doesn't seem so bad.

An E350 with the high end 3-coat paint will run $3200 at MAACO. (That's where mine was done... went from white to dark metallic grey).

That's closer to what I expected. I wasn't really going to put a $500 paint job on a $100,000 Sportsmobile. Gold is looking better and better to me though, so the point may be moot.

Re: Need four other lovers of the color green

Good eye, but this one strikes out. Grey interior, not tan. Diesel engine, not gas. In Ohio, not anywhere near California. Sportsmobile assures us that Vermillion Red and Pueblo Gold are colors that can be ordered new with the tan interior. After staring longingly at the red SMBs of Bronco_Hauler and alta825, I feel the need to stick out like the proverbial sore thumb. We are ordering a red one this Friday.
