Really? That's amazing! If the average guy weighs 160 lbs, that's 1,600 lbs!

Don't Aluminess racks bolt through the side edges of the PH? So any weight on the rack is transferred to the bolts in the PH sides, which seems like a lot of punishment to put on the fiberglass. Or is extra bracing installed on the mount points?

As for mine, the little creaking noises make me nervous when I'm up there. Maybe I'm just hearing the rubber gasket squeak against the van roof.

Yeah, I don't think it would be a good idea to put too much up there on the Aluminess rack but they do make a platform that is solid for tripods and standing. I can stand on mine but only where the slats intersect the cross bars.
Before my roof rack was installed, I just used a 3x3' piece of lexan to disperse my weight while waxing the top. A 300lb knee shot to the fiberglass roof made some noise
