Penthouse for Ford! Will the top off an RB fit onto an EB?

Are the penthouse tops different between the RB and EB. I know SMB charge more for the EB so I am suspecting they are. But I am getting an older gas RB SMB 2wd. And I have also picked up a EB diesel 4wd 15 seat E350. The RB has lived in an environment know to cause rust issues where as the EB has lived its life in the rust free zone. 4wd diesel is preferable to me than a 2wd drive gas so I was looking to merge the two.

Would it be possible to fit the RB penthouse top to the EB body??

Am I looking for trouble

Thanks for helping a NOOB out. (And yes I did try to search but came up blank)

Re: Penthouse for Ford! Will the top off an RB fit onto an EB?

I've always thought they were the same. Note that RB the top goes to about the middle of the front doors, where EB has extra front roof. Since the back and everything else is shaped the same up there (AFIK) they should be the same. Also I think it's been discussed, but the search eludes me.

Thanks Jage. I hope you are right. I will definitely be doing a lot of measuring, templates and anything I can think of short of Nepalese prayer flags (HOA would not like that) before I cut. Hopefully I will be able to hit SMB Texas on my way back from Florida to check what they think.

I didn't check in detail but I think the RB top is shorter than the EB one.

On the RB when you get close to the rear, the slope increases to get to the 3rd stop light, check if the same on the EB or not.

I think they are different. An email to smb should get a quick definitive answer.
