I've been looking at the nice rear-window AC housing that Canada-based Safari Condo offers (see images below). It's designed to mount in a Chevy van's driver's side rear-door window, but I'm wondering if I could make it work in my Ford E250 without too much modification to the housing. It's nice in that it's not a permanent install, and can be taken out without too much hassle from the looks of it. Any idea how similar in dimensions the two van's rear windows are? Figured I'd ask here before driving over to my local Chevy dealer and measuring. I believe Safari Condo sells the housing plus AC unit for around $600 (CAD) or so. (See

I'm also not sure if the AC housing would clear a spare tire mounted on a rear door. (I have the basic rear-door tire carrier, not the Aluminess type.)
I've seen a few Safari Condos over the years. Wish they were available here in the USA, as they have really nice build quality and some interesting features. They are willing to convert existing USA-spec vehicles, but you have to get it up to them in Canada.
