Replacement 'wood' panels

Question, has anyone here used replacement shelving for the SMB panels?

I had an AC drain clog. It soaked the 'wood' and made it look bad. I'm looking the replace the panel.

For white I'm going with "dry erase" wainscoting- reason being it's thin (about ½ as thick as the rest of the wainscoting), looks like it will hold up to moisture a little better (edges are more finished) and since it's going behind the fridge the match doesn't need to be that close.

Problem is most of the wood wainscoting has vertical lines, at least a Lowes, but your best bet is probably to go hunt hardware stores or see if an online wainscoter carries something. I'd think the thickness would be closer to the SMB paneling.

The MDF with a melamine finish that Sportsmobile uses if fairly common. Check with a full service lumber store ... they have a lot more available than a Home Depot or Lowes. Here is a description of different types of plywood/MDF wood:

It may be that Sportsmobile has a unique color it uses which is not commonly available. They might even sell you the wood directly if you can't find it locally. Good luck.

The Panels that SMB uses are from Patrick Industries http://www.patrickind.com/index.htm
Unfortunately I never had any luck trying to purchase directly from them. I think they just sell wholesale. I did get one reply in an email from one person, telling me to try an RV repair place. Other request went unanswered, it wasn't a priority. I also had a name of their T-molding manufacturer, but I have misplaced that.

Thanks for the info Greg.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

I ended up using a black shelf from Home Depot. The woodgrained shelf was abut 2 shades lighter in color.

Black actually looks very good compared to the original wood with a cheap vent cover. It blends well with the Fridge. I'll have a small gap on the bottom for air intake. I'll hold it with velcro to allow easy cleaning and service of the AC evaporator.

$5 and I don't have to cut it...it was a perfect fit.

Here is a pic.... not installed yet. You can see the stained/moldy panel from the AC leak on the floor.
